The MJ Shah Group Established in 1959

Beginning with the pharmaceutical industry as Biochem Pharmaceutical Industries, MJ Shah pioneered world-class medicines that gave hope to millions of Indians. Biochem exported to eight countries, including Thailand, Kenya, Sri Lanka and Malaysia. The company has always believed in the mantra of ‘collaborations lead to solutions’, and has acted in kind by collaborating with partners from the US, UK and Japan. Driven by a desire to help humans live healthier lives, Biochem scaled several firsts in India. They were the first to bring the antibiotic Ampicillin to India - the drug was instrumental in helping Indian soldiers during the 1965 War. With the introduction of Mitomycin-C injections, Biochem revolutionized cancer treatment in India. In 1985, Biochem was the first to introduce Amikacin Sulphate injections to treat bacterial infections. After a five-decade-long commitment to helping Indians from all walks of life gain access to quality yet affordable medicines critical to their well-being, the Group divested its pharmaceutical business in 2011. From the pharmaceutical industry, the Group shifted its focus towards investing in real estate funds (HDFC, ICICI, Peninsula, Reliance, IIFL and Indiareit) as MJ Shah Capital. In 2017, the Group diversified further and entered India’s bustling real estate sector by developing 1 & 2 BHK Homes under the name of CENTRIO LIFESPACES LTD. In less than 3 years, MJ Shah Realtors successfully developed and delivered ready to move in, O.C received projects - Centrio in Upper Chembur (Centrio lifespaces ltd) which are a testimony to lifestyle upgrades. With more upcoming projects in the pipeline, the Group envisions expanding its reach in the other booming locations of Mumbai.
