Step 1

Approved Sales Order

Select the approved order whose total material requirement will be planned.

Sales Order * Select the Sales Order once. After this Material Plan is bound to the order, the Sales Order is locked.

Select an approved Sales Order to view buyer, Buyer PO, delivery date, products, product images, quantities, sizes and colours.

Material Plan decides required materials, eligible material identity, stock reservation, purchase quantity and shortage. Process routing, vendor selection, department allocation, dyeing/process breakup and production output remain downstream.

Product BOM V6 contract: normal planning uses an Active + Planning Ready Standard BOM. The BOM references General Raw Material Masters; this Material Plan may additionally use compatible Order-Specific material belonging to this Sales Order only.

Step 2

Consolidated Material Requirements

Active + Planning Ready Product BOM V6 lines are calculated product-wise. Material-selection rule, technical requirement and product allocation remain traceable. Consolidation occurs only when the canonical requirement identity is genuinely compatible.

Canonical material identity

General material uses its Raw Material Master identity. Order-Specific material is also a canonical Raw Material Master, but remains owned by this Sales Order. Material Plan must never consume another Sales Order's Order-Specific stock.

Material selection rules: Fixed General = exact General master only · Compatible = compatible General + same-order Order-Specific · Planning Selects = planner resolves the final compatible material while preserving the BOM requirement specification.

Stock and Purchase Allocation

Review canonical Warehouse stock balances for each material, then reserve stock by source and plan the remaining purchase quantity. Warehouse is explicit; Location is optional. Quantities are never combined across unlike units.

GUARD

Reservation guard recheck on release

Live source-balance availability is rechecked inside the release transaction. If another plan consumes or reserves the selected source first, release stops and stock allocation must be refreshed.

Review and Validate

Resolve BOM-contract, material identity, Warehouse stock-source and quantity validation before releasing reservations, purchase requirements and the Production Planning handoff.

Eligibility: General stock is reusable. Order-Specific stock is eligible only when its Sales Order owner matches the current Material Plan Sales Order. No stock from another order may be reserved.

Allocation rule: Reserve only the quantity shown as available for each source. The combined source selection must equal the From Stock quantity shown above; purchase quantity is handled separately by the Material Plan.
