Set up a Product Type first

Create a Product Type before adding your first Product.

Products inherit specifications, units, variants and default routes from their Product Type.

Create your first Product Type

Open Product Configuration, create or activate a Product Family if needed, then create an active Product Type.

Product Configuration opens in a new tab. Complete setup there, return to this tab, then select Check Again. If you lack access, ask your company administrator.

How do Product Type defaults work?

Product Family, Product Nature and default settings come from Product Configuration. Process Route and QC are maintained there; order-specific route changes are managed in Production Planning. Once referenced, the Product Type and Family identities are protected.
