Add Raw Material

Create the material master. Complete only the fields that are relevant, then review before saving.

Material Identity

Choose how the material is used, then enter its basic identity and units.

General Material Common reusable material. It may be planned, reserved and consumed by any compatible Sales Order. Order-Specific Material Separate order-owned identity. It may be created unlinked here and assigned to a Sales Order later before planning or stock posting.

Identity: Scope + Material Type + Stock UOM + specifications define a material. General stock can still be reserved for individual orders.

Order-Specific Identity Sales Order and Material Requirement are optional in Material Master. Unlinked records cannot receive opening stock or participate in order planning until linked.

Material Requirement Optional Available after a Sales Order is selected. Material Plan can later provide the exact requirement.

Copy Setup From General Material

Copies the reusable setup—Material Type, UOMs, specifications, processing profile and defaults—into a new independent Order-Specific identity. Stock and history are never copied.

Set reorder levels and storage defaults. Enable processing only when this material needs controlled states, such as Unwashed and Washed.

Tracking comes from the selected Material Type. Planning controls below help purchasing and stock review.

Warehouse / Location Stock Physical, reserved, QC hold, allocated and usable quantities are combined across all warehouses, locations, lots and processing states while preserving General / Order-Specific ownership.

Initial Opening Stock

Use only when the company starts Centrio with stock already available. This posts an auditable OPENING entry in Stock Ledger.

Add Opening Stock

Optional for first-time ERP migration. Future corrections must use Stock Adjustment.

Opening stock will post with the new material Complete warehouse, location, processing state, quantity, date and reference. The selected processing state is the actual stock condition of this opening balance. Lot / Batch is required only when the Material Type uses Lot / Batch tracking.

Physical Storage Location * Opening stock must be posted to a real Warehouse + Location / Bin balance. Lot / Batch is added only when required by the Material Type. The Location / Bin must be active and belong to the selected Warehouse. When Material Processing is enabled, each opening balance also carries its selected processing state so Unwashed, Washed or other valid conditions do not pool together. Opening Stock here is always Company-Owned. Buyer/customer-owned material must be received through the controlled Customer Material Receipt workflow.

Order-Specific → General Conversion

Conversion is a controlled inventory transaction, not a normal material-master edit.

Convert Eligible Order-Specific Material to General Available only after the order/requirement is eligible. The original Order-Specific master remains historical and stock is transferred to a compatible General master.

Final Validation

Review required data, stock integrity and opening-stock readiness before saving.

Required fields are marked *. Stock quantities change only through posted inventory transactions.

2. Choose Surplus Action

Actions are available only for eligible free stock. Every posted action creates auditable stock-ledger records; posted history is never edited.

HOLD Keep for Original Order Retain the balance for repeat, replacement or pending production. MOVE Reallocate to Another Order Transfer ownership or reservation while preserving lot traceability. MASTER Convert to General Stock Move approved free surplus into a compatible Material Master. RTN Return to Supplier Create an outward return against the supplier and source receipt. ADJ Scrap / Stock Adjustment Remove unusable stock through an approved adjustment workflow.

3. Action Details

Enter quantity, target and approval reason. Reallocation changes order ownership; Warehouse Transfer changes physical location.

Warehouse rule: Order A → Order B reallocation should normally keep the same warehouse/location/lot. A physical move between warehouses must use the Stock Transfer workflow.

4. Eligibility and Validation

Posting is allowed only when demand is released, free quantity is still available, and the exact destination Material / Warehouse / Location / Lot authority remains valid at transaction time.

Select an order-specific balance to begin validation.

Posted V17.3 surplus actions are immutable. Corrections use the exact compensating reversal authority; older historical actions without that authority must be corrected through Stock Adjustment.
